HOW IT GETS DONE

Read
the website. This is where it starts. Your job is to check out
the services that we offer
and to read the Frequently Asked Questions
section of the site, as there is a wealth of information there.
Compare.
When comparing
transmission shops the advertised price doesn't mean anything if you're not
getting the same parts & service. Make sure to compare all the parts
replaced when comparing our transmissions against other shops. Also,
understand that we are shot peening the
gears and other highly stressed parts in the transmissions that we build. If
you were to send out your gears to any company that shot peens gears you'll
pay around $400 just for this service alone. We build the very best transmissions
and you will find that our prices are
competitive, especially when you consider our superior build quality and the
additional services that we offer as standard. If you have questions, please
contact us.
We can explain all the options and
the pro's & con's, so you yourself can easily make the wise choice when it
comes to what you really need and not just what we can sell you.
Contact us.
There are two methods for contacting us. You can email
our tech/sales department,
Jon@teamrip.com
or call the workshop
Tuesday-Friday between the hours
of 8am-5pm, 269.382.2669 I'll try to answer it every time
it rings but sometimes I'm busy or out of the shop. If you can't reach me by
phone please email me with your questions and leave me your phone
number so that we can call you.
You make up your
mind & pull the trigger. There are a couple ways to ship the
transmission; the correct way & the wrong way. Our round trip shipping
service is the correct way. Just click on the shipping link on the
left of the screen and you'll
know why.
The transmission is tagged and stamped once we receive
it.
After we sign for your
transmission, we enter in your info into our database and stamp you
initials and the invoice # onto the transmission to insure that you get
your own transmission back.
The transmission is disassembled and hot tanked.
Your transmission is carefully
taken apart and washed in our high pressure 160*F hot tanks. Your
transmission parts come out so squeaky clean, you could eat off them.
All of your parts are thoroughly inspected, wet
magnafluxed and wear patterns checked.
All parts are measured and against manufacture specified
tolerances and we hold a tighter spec on critical parts that are prone to
failure. At TRE, your gearsets are not just visually inspected; we use wet Magnaflux machine
detect cracks that you can't see with the naked eye. Think of it this way,
would you go to a surgeon who doesn't use an X-ray machine? Afterwards, gear wear patterns are
thoroughly checked to
insure a proper and full uniform tooth contact for maximum durability.
All parts are glass beaded.
We are proud of what we do for a living and want you to be happy not only
with how the transmission drives but also with how it looks both inside and
out. True it takes a little longer but we feel that it's worth it and
it looks better than paint any day.
We contact you and let you know what should
be replaced and what upgrades we have for your transmission. We document
everything, keeping all notes to insure accuracy. We have 30 years combined experience with Mitsubishi
transmissions in our shop. We can assist you in deciding what you really
need, not just parts we can sell you. All correspondence is
kept in our records insuring accuracy.
We replace all parts that are out of spec or in question
with new updated modified parts.
We certainly don’t want you to have
to go through another rebuild. Your parts are carefully inspected and
if anything needs replacement we do it. We are not known for being the
cheapest shop when it comes to transmission rebuilds but we are known for
building a stout transmission that lasts. Our philosophy is that it is
best to spend the long dollar and have it done right the first time.
We stock OEM/JDM spec parts. TRE has a very large inventory of hand selected OEM &
JDM parts. We have virtually anything your transmission may need in stock.
I measure and inspect all parts that we receive from Mitsubishi; only
accepting the best of parts, refusing those that don’t meet my
specifications.
We replace all non-reusable parts. (end nuts, snap rings, roll pins, seals, springs.)
There are certain items that other shops will try to reuse in a
pinch or when trying to do a cheaper rebuild. This isn’t wise or
something we practice.
Front differentials are properly repaired and
clearanced. The front differential housing is TIG welded up and machined if
necessary. We adjust the backlash correctly and install all new shims and
thrust washers.
Center differentials are properly repaired and
clearanced. We
precision machine
our center differential housings, in house, on a CNC vertical machining
center. Center
differentials receive: the Torrington thrust bearing upgrade, backlash is
adjusted correctly and include all new shims and spider gear thrust washers.
Simply the best is what you get at TRE.
We shot peen gears. Click

transmissions hold up the best.
Our in house machine shop ensures quality precision
work. We have a complete machine
shop capable of all your transmission machining
needs. We are capable of blue-printing the transmission and performing our
tricks of the trade to
give you the very best service and strength possible out the
transmission.
We inspect everything; Wet-Magnaflux
all parts for cracks, check to see if the teeth are meshing on the diametric
pitch circle, stress relieve the gear teeth, hand detail the parts, some
parts get shot peened while others get vibratory finished
and polished. We
modify the oiling passages to improve lubrication in the transmission which
has proven to dramatically reduce transmission temps and increase life of various
components. We
blue print the transmission; making corrections to both the case and
to the gearsets. This increases the durability while extending the service life
of the transmission. Just send us an
email
with any of your questions.

We properly adjust bearing preloads/clearances. While some consider it
rocket science it's not, but bearings are designed to have a certain amount
of preload or clearance on them for long service life and we make sure they
are right on the money, using only high quality bearings and proven
techniques that provide the longest bearing life while holding the gearsets
tight.
We use a torque wrench on all fasteners. Proper torque on fasteners ensures maximum strength and
durability.
We warranty our work for 12
months. *click here for warranty
