These differentials are in perfect shape and ready for installation to replace your worn out front differential. What is a RIPGRIP?  It's that limit slip insert thing for your transmission's open-style front differential.  CNC'd from tool steel and paired with  high tension springs so you get the most lock-up possible. You will not break the thing and the modifications that we do to the housing makes them hold up! We stock them for the the FWD & AWD Mitsubishi vehicles and custom units are available upon request.

We start with a good used AWD front differential.

The differential housing is inspected for wear, magnafluxed and glass beaded clean. 

The speedo drive gear is in perfect condition.

The bearing posts are measured to make sure the bearings fit tightly, not loose which can cause gear breakage.

The axle bores are free of damage and the spider gearset are either new or a used matched set that has been shot peened.

The side gears are machined flat to get the most limited slip action possible.

The housing is modified to improve oil flow to the shims. 

Afterwards, the gearset is fitted with new shims and the RIPGRIP.

All of these units have good bearings on them but if you would like us to press on a set of new bearings the cost is $50.

This service includes:

• glass beading of the differential housing

• inspection of all surfaces for excessive wear

• magnaflux inspection of the spider gears and housing for cracks

• shot peening of the spider gears for durability

• modified oiling passages to reduce wear

• polished cross shaft to reduce wear

• new cross shaft retaining pin for strength

• new side shims and cup washers to set backlash

• RIPGRIP limited slip insert for improved traction
