The basic rear diff rebuild service is $525.

Includes the following services and parts:

  • The rear diff is disassembled and hot tanked to remove all dirt, grease and oil.
  • Parts are then glass beaded and then inspected for wear and components are magnafluxed checked for cracks.
  • Cast iron housing is glass beaded and epoxy painted.
  • Pinion flange glass beaded, painted and then turned true to rule out any vibration from a damaged pinion flange.
  • New Upper and Lower Pinion Gear Tapered Roller Bearings
  • New Carrier Housing Right and Left Tapered Roller Bearings
  • New Shims for Bearing Preload Setup, Pinion Height / Gear Backlash Setup, and Proper Gear Contact Pattern
  • New Pinion Flange Seal
  • New Rear Axle Seals
  • New Fasteners
  • New Fill Plug and Washer
  • New Magnetic Drain Plug and Washer

  • TRE Oil Sight Rear Cover.  Allows visual indication of oil quality while increasing oil capacity by 50%.
  • CNC machining of the Cross Shaft and Side Sheaves to eliminate most of the “clunk” from the rear diff.
  • CNC machining of the Rear Diff Basket to increase the radius of the housing. Improves the strength against cracking.
  • Gear Detail & Tooth Profile Modification of the Ring & Pinion gearset. Proven to increase the durability of the gear teeth.
  • Shot Peening of the Ring & Pinion, Spider Gearset, Cross Shaft, Side Sheaves, Rear Diff Basket. We make them stronger.

Turn-around times for the rear diff service is about a week.

Optional 12 plate MAX LOCK friction disc upgrade

Far superior to other friction disc because they have both radial the spiral grooves for improved lubrication and cooling. Think of them like vented rotor brakes vs. solid rotor brakes, they simply outlast anything that we have tried over the years.

Optional HD billet side cover

More material in critical areas and larger corner radii makes the new side cover very stout.  This increased rigidity eliminates deflection of the factory differential housing, keeping the ring & pinion gear running perpendicular to one another even during the harshest of clutch dumps.

Optional oil sight glass rear cover

A nice solution that allows you to easily add the additional correct amount of oil which will keep your front pinion bearing from running hot and ruining your day. New oil sight covers have a fill line engraved on the cover. Oil capacity is increased approximately 50%.
